VIRGIN Media customers can get a free broadband speed boost from today.
And all you need to do is a simple 30 second task on your Wi-Fi router to instantly take advantage.
Customers need to reset their router to benefit[/caption]Only households with the top M500 or Gig 1 packages are eligible for the free offer.
Internet users will notice that the upload speed has ramped up once its complete.
Decent upload speeds are crucial for things like video calls, game streaming or sharing photos onto the cloud.
Customers with M500 can now expect an upload speed of 52Mbps – up from 36Mbps.
Meanwhile Gig 1 users will see theirs doubled from 52Mbps to 104Mbps.
The firm claims the boost is six times faster than the UK’s average upload speed.
To activate it, owners will have to reset their Virgin Media router.
Switch it off, wait five to ten seconds and switch it back on again.
You can also check the new upload speeds are up and running by doing a speed test on Virgin Media’s Connect app.
M100 and M200 customers already received an upgrade at the end of 2022.
“As demand for fast and reliable connectivity continues to soar, we’re boosting upload speeds for millions of our broadband customers at no extra cost,” said Gareth Turpin, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Media O2.
